• Minimum 25 years of age
• Complete a CASA application package including references
• Undergo screening and background checks
• Participate in 30-35 hours of pre-service training
• Make a one year committment to the program
• Participate in 12 hours of continuing education annually

CASA strives to provide a program whose volunteer advocates reflect the diversity of the children we serve and our community. 

 

It is the policy of CASA to recruit and select volunteers based upon the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the job. 

CASA will consider all applicants for volunteer positions without regard to race, color, age, religion, sex, sexual orientation, disability, marital status, status as a veteran, or national origin.

 

Virginia Beach CASA will refer possible volunteer applicants to other CASA programs or National CASA if the individual does not reside within the program’s service area.
